(Mottainai Suika | Watermelon)

General Description
It's summer time, and that means it's time for watermelons! And watermelons are too good to waste!
We're back again with Kirin's third entry in their Mottainai series - this time with watermelon from Obanazawa city in Yamagata prefecture. Did you know that the city produces the most summer watermelons in Japan? Well now we both do!
You can find out more about the people involved with the third wave's supply and production by checking out the QR code. For more about the project in general, you can check out our review of their second wave flavour!
But for now, let's jump in! 乾杯!

Honestly, It tastes more like honeydew than watermelon to me. It has a clear light sweetness that avoids tasting full of sugar. There's a bitter aftertaste. The first time I tried it, I found the aftertaste a bit much. However I quite enjoyed the flavour the second try. It's like a carbonated vitamin water drink. - Texture

It's carbonated but not too fizzy.
- Smell
-
There's a honeydew smell.

Similar to the second wave, it's nothing too exciting but it is nice and refreshing. You might get caught off guard by the melon taste if you are expecting what I would normally imagine as watermelon. - Would I try again?

Yep! It's a fun little summer drink and it's nice to help prevent food loss!
