(Furoozun Ramune | Frozen Ramune)

General Description
It's gotten HOT real quick. But at least Morinaga's got us covered with their frozen ramune!
We've covered ramune and another one of Morinaga's "frozen drinks" before. Unlike the frozen afternoon tea, this one is relatively new. Just like the tea though, this one also has vanilla ice cream that imitates whipped cream (though this one doesn't go as far down), with a sauce swirl made from the actual drink. We also have chocolate chips mixed into the bottom part of the "drink."
According to Morinaga, there are 3 notable points about this cold treat. 1, there is an enjoyable balance of texture between the shaved ice and chocolate chips. 2, you can enjoy both the taste and aesthetic of the regular ramune at the bottom and colourful, fruit-scented ramune on top. And 3, you can choose to eat the ice cream and shaved ice separately or mixed together, it's up to you! Moreover, the people behind this product state that the chocolate chips were used with the shaved ice to create the perfect balance that makes the dessert satisfying while keeping it light and refreshing.

The vanilla ice cream is sweet and has a dairy taste to it. The ramune candy sweet with a subtle sour lemon flavour. It adds something nice to the plain vanilla. The taste of the lakto ice is much more like the lemon tasting candy than the drink (which tastes like cotton candy to me). You can kinda taste the chocolate chips. They add a creamy sweetness. The ramune at the bottom adds a stronger punch.
- Texture
-
The vanilla ice cream is light, soft and smooth. The ramune sauce blends well with it. The ramune crumbles easily into powder and is easy to eat. The lakto ice is very fine and melts in your mouth. The chocolate chips last but will melt too if you wait long enough. It gives it a soft crunchy grainy texture.
- Smell
-
There isn't a strong smell. You can kinda smell the fruity ramune when holding it.

I often try things twice to get a better feel for things and sometimes I change my opinion. This was one such case. I think knowing what kind of taste to expect let me enjoy it more. While at first it was just a fun novelty, I found myself quite enjoying it the second time. It is indeed an enjoyable balance that is more satisfying than regular lakto ice. - Would I try again?

I don't see it available at many places, but I'll definitely have another one before the summer ends.
